Week 4

I felt this way because during this project I had to change many dates so me and my group partners could do this work together. Me and my partners talked about doing it a week after a it was assigned, so I scheduled it with the chief of the fire station. But right when I scheduled it I realized I made a mistake because I forgot to check if I had work. It turned out that on the day I scheduled it I had work, so after this mistake and I had to adapt to a different time we had to do it. So I called my partner and we both sat down and figured out a time that would work for both of us. Also I felt like I was a good leader in our group because I set the time up and talked to the chief so we could do this project at the firestation. Also I was the one that came up with this idea and I asked around who wanted to do and I got Simon R, Luke W and I to do it. I truly felt that without me in this group we could not have done this project at the firestation. Also when we did not know what we were doing yet, I respected my partner and we did a vote to see who wanted to do what. Also I respected and listened to my partners the whole project which I think empowered them to do the best work they could. Also before we went to the firestation I made some rules. For example I said no messing around because we came here to work hard and help the firefighters and city of prior lake.

In this service learning project I am determined. I feel this way because I already got my hours in and set up everything with the fire station as fast as I could. I also set my goals really fast which were learning about what you do when you are a firefighter and helping the city out and make sure the trucks and fire department look good and clean and could help them be faster to their calls. I also wanted to learn some medical stuff which all the firefighter know about because one day I want to do something in the medical industry. I faced many challenges including having to talk to the chief about what we were doing and explaining the project. I think that I got better at talking to people and I got a better understanding of what this project is for and about by explaining the details to him. Reflection

Did I spend enough time to do quality work? yes I spent about 8 or more hours working hard making the firefighters food, cleaning he trucks, and learning more about what firefighters do.
